Before MINT became a recognizable name in dentistry, Dr. Field Harrison was a young man helping people receive care they couldn’t otherwise afford.
His early experience included dental mission work in Romania and volunteering in underserved Dallas communities. Those experiences connect directly to the purpose MINT describes today: relieving suffering and making outstanding dental care more accessible. Harrison founded the company in 2009.
What followed was the growth of a business whose founder openly credits God and the people around him.
Building with faith
On MINT’s website, Harrison attributes the company’s success to the people God brought into his life. He describes collaboration among talented dentists as an important part of the company’s development, helping improve techniques, materials, and patient care.
That perspective gives his founder story a different emphasis. The business carries his vision, but his account of its success makes room for the contributions of others.
His entrepreneurial work has also expanded beyond general dentistry. His published biography identifies him as the founder of Saint Apollonia management group, overseeing businesses spanning dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, dental education, and insurance services.
Caring for the people doing the work
A company’s values become tangible when an employee needs help.
Through MINT Cares, Harrison and his wife, Sabrina, provide financial assistance to employees experiencing hardship. MINT also describes their support for local churches and other philanthropic efforts. These commitments put a practical expression behind the faith Harrison speaks about publicly.
For founders, that raises a useful question: As the business grows, how does its capacity to care grow with it?
A calling beyond the company
Harrison’s interests extend into music, writing, and family life. He and Sabrina co-founded TRUE Music Label to support emerging artists. His book, Golf Proverbs, brings together his interests in golf, business, faith, and family through spiritual metaphors and life lessons.
Across those pursuits, a recurring theme emerges: using the opportunities available to him to serve, encourage, and create.
For readers of Faithful Founder, Harrison’s story offers a practical subject for reflection. Faith can influence what an entrepreneur builds, whom they bring alongside them, and what they choose to do with the resources that follow.
The question reaches well beyond dentistry: Who benefits from the business you’re building?
